Home for Christmas...

It is almost -30C (-20F approx.) here today - brrrr! At least the sun is shining that always makes it 'seem' a little warmer outside! Ha! Happily, I will be some where much warmer soon for a little break from winter :)
I am continuing to make my Holiday cards for Dec. 2011 - and last week I stamped a few of these images from the SU set Home for Christmas, and yesterday I had time to put this card together with one of the images I finished colouring.

Stamps: Home for Christmas, En Francais background, Many Merry Messages
Papers: Crumb Cake, Real Red, Hunter Green, Artist Marker Paper
Inks: Copic Markers, Memento Tuxedo Black, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: buttons, white taffeta ribbon, polka dot embossing folder, dimensionals, mat pack

Enjoy your day!

Miki's Puppies...

Hello there, today I have two cards to share. Both use the same image and design, but, as you can see the colours are different. For the top card I used lots of red and grey Copics (R29, R27, R24, N1, N4) and the one below I used aquas, greys and browns (BG75, BG72, BG49, BG45, N1, N4, E37, E35, E31).

This image from Mo's Digital Pencil was fun to work on and I am looking forward to making more of these cards for mailing to family and friends for the holidays in December. I used the snowflake from the SU set Season of Joy, some dazzling diamonds glitter and some white taffeta ribbon for embellishing on both cards. Papers are Real Red and Sage Shadow CS, DSP is (To The Nines and Love Impressions).
The inside sentiment reads "Warmest greetings of the season and every good wish for the coming year." from SU's Many Merry Messages.
Thanks for stopping by!

CAS107, Snowflakes & Ski Bear...

It's Monday today so the new clean & simple challenge is up on SCS! This week the challenge is to create your own background. For my card, I used the random stamping technique with Versamark Ink to create a snowflake background for the image - "Ski Bear" by Whipper Snapper Designs. We have lots of avid skiers in our family so this will go out to one of them during the holiday season in December. I really love this easy, clean and simple design and I will definitely be making more of these cards for my stash! The sentiment on the inside is simply "Happy Holidays" from the SU set Many Merry Messages. The snowflake stamp in the background is from SU's Christmas Punch set.
Thank you for stopping by today - Happy Stamping!

Christmas Fairy Holly...

Hi there...this is for today's Featured Stamper on SCS - StampGroover! Her cards are great! Cookie has a clean and simple style that I really like so it was very enjoyable to browse through her gallery. Here is the card I chose to case. I didn't have the same image so I used Christmas Fairy Holly by Mo's Digital Pencil. I kept the same CAS style but used a Labels One Nestability die to cut out my image. The base of this card is Real Red and the additional papers are Wild Wasabi card stock and dsp.

Cheers,

Happy Birthday...

This card is for two challenges first, the Color Throwdown this week - Ballet Blue, light green and dark green. Secondly, the Fri. Free For All Challenge on SCS was to make a birthday card
for a child. I need a few more birthday cards for boys in my stash and I thought these colours would be great for a boy. I used Certainly Celery and Old Olive for my 2 green colours the base of the card is Ballet Blue. The stamp sets I used are Crazy for Cupcakes & Vintage Labels.
I coloured the image in with Copic markers and added some texture with the Square Lattice embossing folder. A wavy border along the bottom and some ribbon finishes this one!

Birthday Cupcakes...

I found a great sketch challenge at Clean and Simple Stamping and used the most recent sketch for this card FTL127. For this birthday card I have used 2 SU sets - Crazy for Cupcakes and A Word For You. The papers are pink pirouette, pretty in pink and whisper white card stock and the the retired Sending Love dsp. The image was coloured in with Copic Markers.

Birthday Fairy Lee...

Good morning, I hope this little Birthday Fairy puts a smile on your face today. I created this card using the sketch from Inkspirations Challenge 57.

I printed out the image (Birthday Fairy Lee - Mo's Digital Pencil) onto Artist Marker paper and coloured her in with Copic markers. I cut out the image using oval dies from the Nestability collection. The papers are pretty in pink, perfect plum and whisper white card stocks and perfect plum dsp. I've also added a spiral clip with ribbon in the same colours. This will be a great card for a sweet little girl I know.

Bloomin' Beautiful in Pink...

Hi there...hope your day has been a good one so far! I had an appt. this morning so I'm just getting around to posting this card now. I had wanted to participate in the Colour Q challenge last week but wasn't able to make something with the colours until last night. So, this one is not posted in the challenge but I love these colours together! I've used pink pirouette, very vanilla and crumb cake! The stamp set is the retired SU Bloomin' Beautiful. I coloured the flower in with a blender pen and pink pirouette, pretty in pink and so saffron inks, cut it out and popped it up on a dimensional. The stem and leaves are mellow moss. Also used were: En Francais background stamp, photo corner punch, swiss dots embossing folder, kraft taffeta ribbon, off white photo clip brad and crochet lace.

Thanks for popping by today!

Toboggan Fun...

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Today I have this clean and simple card share using the CAS Sketch challenge on SCS. A simple two layer card that focuses on the image by Mo's Digital Pencil. I used Copic markers to colour this pair of tobogganers in and added some dazzling diamonds glitter to the snow and fur trim. The image was then cut out with a Labels 8 nestability die and popped up on dimensionals on Real Red card stock.

Ski Bear...

It's still winter here in Canada! So, yesterday I decided to create something with Ski Bear by Whipper Snapper Designs with a winter/holiday theme! This stamp is 'new to me' and I really enjoyed putting this card together! The image was quick to colour with Copic markers - I guess he's a Polar Bear since he's all white :) Just a little N4 and N1 Neutral Gray around the edges of his fur, then for his hat I used YG67, and YG63 . The scarf reds are R29 and R24.
For the sentiment I chose from two older retired SU sets Riveting, and the tiny snowflake in the centre is from Short & Sweet.
The paper is Real Red, Wild Wasabi (& WW DSP) and Whisper White, the ribbon is also Whisper White taffeta ribbon.

Have a fabulous weekend!

IC271, Tea Time...

Hi there, this is for Inspiration Challenge 271 on Splitcoaststamper's. Here is the inspiration picture I chose. These tea cups remind me of the ones my Grandmother had so I couldn't resist making a card inspired by them :) I used the teacup and kettle from SU's Morning Cup set and the colours are Pink Pirouette, Certainly Celery, Pear Pizzazz, and Whisper White. The satin ribbon is Pretty in Pink. I've also used the top note die and a large dot embossing folder.
Inside the card I've adhered a scalloped envelope to hold a teabag for the recipient :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Siku and Shiya...

Good morning! It is starting to warm up a bit outside here today which is a welcome reprieve from the cold temperatures of late!
I love Mo's Digital Images, and I am enjoying learning to use my Copic's on some of them. This image called Siku and Shiya I found in stamp form at a local scrapbooking store yesterday and couldn't wait to try it. It was quite quick to colour in actually and I've added some sparkle to the snow and fur trim on their parkas. The papers used are a Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Real Red and Marina Mist card stock, and Marina Mist patterned paper stack dsp. The image and mat were cut out with Nestabilities Labels One dies and popped up on dimensionals. I think that about covers it. TFL!

Sweet Girl...

Just practicing with my Copic markers and this sweet image from Mo's Digital Pencil called Kimono. The background is Orchid Opulence and it is definitely a clean and simple {cas} card as there is not even one embellishment. I used a curved rectangle nestability to cut out the image and popped it up on dimensionals.

Have a great day!

Stuck On You...

Hi there! I couldn't resist participating in the Winter White Challenge on the Penny Black site. I stamped these cute hedgies and sentiment out from the set 'Stuck On You' and coloured them in with Copics! The challenge was to use a lot of white on your card, I think I've accomplished that :) Other than colouring, this card went together quickly as there are no embellishments only the scalloped oval mat in Real Red card stock.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Happy Holidays...

I felt like making a card with snowmen this weekend so I broke out my More the Merrier set - just love these snowmen! I coloured them in with Copic markers and added some glitter to the snow along the bottom of the image. The sentiment is from Many Merry Messages. The DSP is Marina Mist and the taffeta ribbon is bashful blue. I also added a small scalloped border along the middle near the ribbon but it is really hard to see it in the photo :) Thanks for stopping by!

Mellow Moss Lighthouse ...

Happy Super Bowl Sunday to all you football fans! Can't believe how early the coverage started this morning on TV! Anyways, onto today's card for SCS Featured Stamper - Lori {3bugs&me}. I chose this card of her's to case. I used a rectangular shape but kept the layering. I changed the stamp and colours. The lighthouse stamp I used comes from Light Unto my Path (SU-retired) and the colours on my card are mellow moss, always artichoke, chocolate chip and very vanilla, the DSP is from To The Nines. The accessories used are: square lattice EB folder, brads and ribbon.

Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by.

Birthday Tree...

Our Creative Corner Challenge this week is called Branch Out - a clean and simple card showcasing a tree or branch stamp. I chose Season of Friendship {of course, it's my favourite} I tried really hard not to add too much "stuff" for a CAS look! Hopefully, I sort of accomplished that!

The colours I used are Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, Whisper White and Chocolate Chip - I {heart} these colours together :) The large circles were cut out using the Big Shot and Nestability dies, the small flowers with the Trio Flower punch. I added teeny tiny brads to the centres and sponged the edges of those. The ribbon is White Taffeta and the sentiment is from A Word For You.
I think that about covers it for this one...

CQ#70 - For You...

Hi there! Happy Saturday! I just got my new laptop back this afternoon, I had to leave it for 24 hours to have some of my info. transferred from my old laptop! I realized how much I rely on (and miss) having internet at my finger tips even for a short period of time! Anyways, onto the card! I made this using the Colour Q colours for this week, they are as follows:

This one was difficult for me to pull together because I don't have much of the In colour product, so had to use what I had on hand :) It's a plain and simple design but I think it works!
This is also for the Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge today :) TFL
Well, today after a few days of warmer temperatures we have slipped back into the deep freeze so I will be hibernating in my stamp room tonight after watching a little NHL :)

Cheers,

Hugs & Kisses...

Hello! Today, I have a very quick SU only Valentine's Day card to share. It's pretty straight forward so I'll get right to the products used :)
Real Red and Basic Gray cardstock, glimmer paper punched out with the full heart punch and DSP from the New Mini. The sentiment comes from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set and the ribbon is white taffeta :) A scalloped border in Basic Gray cardstock and a line of piercing along the top edge and that's it!

Happy Friday!

You Are One of a Kind Owl...

Hi there! Today's card is for SCS Ways to Use it Challenge 308 - to use a heart anywhere on your card. This little Two-Step Owl Punch was just perfect for this challenge since it punches out a small heart along with this super cute owl! I've had this card idea in my mind since I first saw the Owl punch! I knew it would work well with Season of Friendship - one of my favourite sets. The sentiment is from One of a Kind :) I also used some of the new In colour Papers - Pear Pizzazz and Poppy Parade. I don't have any of those ink pads so I improvised and found that Certainly Celery is a great match for Pear Pizzazz!

Well, that's all from me for now, I hope you are having a great day!

More Christmas Jingle Creations...

Today I'm posting some more cards and another scrapbooking layout I made using the retired Simply Scrappin' Kit - Christmas Jingle.

I sure did get a lot accomplished with this kit and I already have a good start on my Christmas cards for next season :) I have a few scraps left but that's all!

Hope to be back again soon with something a little more seasonal for February - like a Valentine's card :)

Have a wonderful day!

Christmas cards...

On the weekend I started scrapbooking with a retired Simply Scrappin' kit called Christmas Jingle. I posted two of the layouts yesterday for you to see. There was so much paper leftover after making up 3 12 x 12 double layouts that I was able to make ALOT of cards! The picture above is only about half of them! I will have to take a photo of the rest of them sometime today and will post it tomorrow. I can't believe it but I still have leftover scraps, enough that I can probably make about another 6 to 8 cards from!
I did use the following stamps Dasher , So Many Scallops and Many Merry Messages on some of these. Most of the cards I made today with this kit used up the remaining stickers!
I have to say that I was so surprised with how much I was able to make from just one kit, I will definitely consider purchasing another one especially for something like Christmas when you have lots of photos to scrapbook and need to mail out a lot of cards!

It is really cold here again today - the last few mornings I read the temperature outside my kitchen window at -30 celcius! Hope it is warmer where you are!
