tis' the SEASON...

Hello there and thanks for being so patient with me, I know it has been quite sometime since my last card post, but it is with good reason! Taking care of the family comes first and everything else just has to take a back seat :) I am happy to report that now everyone in my family is well again after some nasty bugs and a very bad virus that had 3 out of 4 feeling lousy off and on for what has been 3 weeks all tolled! I was the 1 out of 4 that remained healthy - so I am crossing my fingers and toes I stay that way! It is a long winter flu and cold season here, so I'm sure I will have my turn at some point down the road :(

Anyways, onto the card I have to share with you today... I started with the limited supply challenge today #244 on SCS - to use 2 snowflakes, 2 ribbons and 2 designer papers and your card should be themed around the weather outside your door as well. So since it is snowy and cold here I went with a Christmas themed card using the Season of Joy stamp set. I did go over the limit on the snowflakes because I used some Merry Moments designer paper, but I have the 2 ribbons - chocolate chip and real red ;) and the second designer paper is on the inside of the card. I also pulled out my neglected corner rounder to use on this card today, it hasn't seen much love lately!

Sure hope you are having a great day!

Cheers,

Supplies:
Stamps: Season of Joy
Inks & Markers: old olive
Paper: merry moments dp, old olive, real red, very vanilla, chocolate chip
Accessories: real red and chocolate chip ribbon, corner rounder

This first one is a BRAK from Neptunem on SCS - isn't it gorgeous! Thank you Kristen - it was such a wonderful surprise to find this beauty in the mailbox the other day!

Up next is this lovely from my friend and upline Debbie - she knows how much I {heart} pink and brown together!!! Thanks so much Debbie for thinking of me on my birthday :)

And finally my friend Sue made this perfect in pink :) paisley card in my fav colours -Thanks Sue!!! It is a wonderful world :)

So aren't I just the lucky girl to receive these 3 beauties! I had a wonderful day on my birthday visiting friends and dinner out and it was Thanksgiving here in Canada so there was lots of family time and of course lots of turkey and fixin's over the weekend to boot - I couldn't have asked for anything more - I am so THANKFUL!
Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Sick Bay...

It has been a week of no posts for me! My son has been very sick with a horrible virus so this past week included 2 trips to the IV clinic at the hospital for him and lots of tending too by me :) Thankfully he is on the mend this week, but it has turned the house a bit upside down if you know what I mean. I will get things back on track today and after a day of cleaning and finishing up some overdue errands, etc I will have time to make a card or two to share :)
Back soon!

Holiday Peace...

For Christmas, making simple, quick and mail-friendly cards (flat enough to mail with a regular stamp) since we are sending so many at once is desirable. This card is a good example. It could indeed be jazzed up with some glitter, texture in the background or designer paper even. But I think this one is pretty and festive in its simplicity!
Thanks for stopping by today.

Supplies:
Stamps: To You and Yours
Inks & Markers: basic gray, pacific point
Paper: pacific point, basic gray, whisper white
Accessories: oval dies and big shot machine, white organdy ribbon, dimensionals

I also used the Sanded background on the really rust cs along the bottom half of the card. I found a sketch challenge on the Stamping 411 blog so I've used last Friday's sketch on this card.

Trick or Feet!

Hi there! I got busy early in the morning and made this card using today's sketch on SCS. I tilted the stamped image slightly (a small variation from the sketch) - I just thought it looked better on a slight angle rather than straight up and down :)

I picked this stamp up years ago at a local craft store and have fun using it for Halloween! The designer papers are just scraps leftover from a Halloween scrapbook layout I did - nice to use up those bits and pieces that we all have from scrapbooking pages to make a card or two!

Have a super day!

Trio of Trees...

I was looking up colour combinations last night HERE and came across this one - river rock, riding hood red and soft suede! I thought these colours might work with the set Season of Friendship so I got stamping and this trio of cards is what I came up with. I've also used very vanilla as a neutral with this combination.

I was actually surprised to find how much I like these colours together! I admit I wasn't so sure about soft suede when I first saw it, but now that I have started combining it with other SU colours I've definitely changed my mind :)

Supplies:
Stamps: season of friendship, much appreciated, sincere salutations
Inks & Markers: riding hood red, river rock, soft suede
Paper: riding hood red, river rock, soft suede, very vanilla, Bella Rose dp
Accessories: ribbon, oval punches, button, glue dots, dimensionals, mat pack and piercing tool

Bevy of Bells...

I {heart} this stamp! Sleighs Bells Ring is so fun to colour and looks great year after year with all the new designer papers - I will never tire of its classic holiday scene! Here I have made a pair of cards using some Ski Slope dp, with real red, baja breeze and old olive cs. I stamped them on watercolour paper and used inks and an aqua painter for colouring. Then I added lots of dazzling diamonds for some serious sparkle! The sentiments come from the set Many Merry Messages.
Thanks for dropping in :)

WSC100- Heartfelt Thanks...

This is for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #100. I also wanted to challenge myself to use colours that I don't reach for very often ! Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Always Artichoke - for inks and paper with a touch of black in the corners and elegant eggplant ribbon (just because I didn't have any plum ribbon :) Of course the stamp set is an old stand by - Heartfelt Thanks (now retired)

I went to IKEA today with a friend and purchased several Bygel racks and now have all my SU punches within reach of my desk in my little stamping studio :) no more searching in a drawer when I need a punch :) Yea!

Nursery Necessities...

Happy Saturday!
Yesterday, I went with friends to the Creative Stitches and Crafting Alive Show - it was excellent! Lots of quilting, stamping, scrapbooking, sewing, etc. all under one roof! They had some great show specials on designer fabric especially!
Today, I stamped a few baby cards with the Nursery Necessities set -(which is new to me) . I saw a card in the SCS gallery made with the little sailboat by Helena some time ago and have been wanting to case it ever since :) I finally did that today !
I used the same layout for the "It's a girl" card but changed everything else!
I know for sure it is Autumn now and Winter is on it's way as the Canada geese are starting to fly south - everyday I drive by the farmer's fields and they are full of geese stopping to rest and eat as they migrate to warmer destinations! I will try to snap a picture of them to post soon!
Happy Fall :)

Supplies:
Stamps: nursery necessities
Inks & Markers: pretty in pink, not quite navy, old olive, bashful blue
Paper: old olive, not quite navy, whisper white, pretty in pink, regal rose, sweet always dp
Accessories: pretty in pink ribbon, bashful blue taffeta ribbon, embossing folders, various dies and big shot machine, word window punch, dimensionals

BOO!

Hi there! It is October 1st today so I thought I would try to make something with a Halloween theme! I have been wanting to try one of these top note boxes for a while now, but I am still waiting for my SU order so I had to use what I had in my stash for Halloween, which isn't much! I will definitely be making more of these once I get those Halloween stamps and paper from SU :)

I did use the instructions from Becky at Inking Idaho but I modified mine by leaving the top open - you can see the crinkle paper and candy now!

It's hard to tell in the picture but the spider is attached to a piece of black twine that starts at the top note edge :)

This was super easy and lots of fun to make!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening!

Supplies:
Paper: basic black, lavender lace, whisper white, leftover piece of dp from stash
Inks: old olive, black, lavender lace
Accessories: black brads, old olive ribbon, circle punches, black twine, top note die and big shot machine, paper crimper, sticky tape
