Travel Journals

I made these travel journals up for a trip to Europe that we will be going on with our very good friends. This is the front cover picture to the left. The second picture above is of the inside covers, there is some space for a photo that can be added later. It will be fun to use these and keep track of our adventures as we travel. More to follow on this in the future. The journals are made using those inexpensive coil bound books from the dollar store and all the paper and stamps are from my friend she gave me everything to use. TFL. Beth

With so many beautiful designer papers now it makes creating a simple card quick and easy! I used this paper from the Green Tea pack with the new in colours baji breeze and kiwi kiss cs. The stamp set is called Best Yet a level one hostess set. I haven't had any time to stamp lately so I pulled this one out of my stash to show you :)

A work in progress...

Click on the picture for a larger view
Hi there! It is a beautiful sunny and warm day here in Northern Alberta!! SO wonderful!! I have been visiting a blog that my friend Debbie (Stylish Creations link on sidebar) has as a link on her site its called Pots & Pins and she has lots of quilts photographed on her site (as well as many recipes). It has motivated me enough to pull out this quilt top that I finished last October, shake off the dust (seriously!) and admire it again! I am going to get busy and find some nice backing fabric and quilt it! So, stay tuned I will hopefully have a finished picture to show you by...let's say Christmas, I'm hoping that will be enough time anyways. I know I usually only post papercrafts but I do have a few other crafty talents (Ha! Ha!) so I thought I'd share them with you once in a while too. I have no new cards to show you due to being away all last week so, today was a great time for this quilting post :-)
Enjoy your day!

Random Stamping Card...

Hello there! Such an easy and quick card this one was! I love this set Eastern Blooms, it makes random stamping a breeze. I cased this from AMY12E's gallery on SCS. Her card used the faux silk method with tissue paper but I wanted some quick cards to demo so I left that part out and also left the bottom edge straight instead of scalloping it.. The base is not quite navy and the scallop border is certainly celery and same for the inks. The large flower bloom is cut out and popped up on dimensionals.
Have a great day!
Beth

Card Recipe:
Stamps: eastern blooms, heard from the heart
Inks & Markers: not quite navy, certainly celery
Paper: same as inks and whisper white

Be Inspired Challenge #21

I made this card up for BIC21 you can check it out on Beate's blog there's a link on the sidebar. I posted the inspiration picture above the card. The yellow flower pot and orange tulips jumped out at me the most so that's what I went with for inspiraiton on this one. I love watercolouring this new stamp from the Serene Spring set, although I still have much to learn about watercolouring :-) I do enjoy it! I used apricot appeal and kiwi kiss - seems like a weird combo but I quite like it. TFL

Lots of Blue For You card...

Well, here we are the last day of the last long weekend of the summer...can hardly believe it!!! MY DH and DS went home for a visit last week and they stayed at my SIL's house. She loves the colour blue so I made up this card for them to send her as a thank you(sentiment stamped on the inside). I'm happy with how it turned out although I wasn't so sure as I was making it how it would end up :) Around the outside edge of the night of navy cardstock I stamped the flower stamp from this set Fresh Cuts using Versamark ink hopefully it shows up well enough in this picture for you to see it. I also used brocade blue and whisper white. TFL and have a great holiday!
