It is really beautiful this year and there are loads of unopened blooms it will be spectacular when they are all open :)

Ginger Ruby Blooms - case of "Just Give Me Stamps"...

The single bloom flower card is a CASE of Laurie's from "Just Give Me Stamps" (blog link on the sidebar). If you haven't checked out her blog you should her cards are works of art!
I made another similar card with the flower pot stamp from the same set Bloomin' Beautiful. I used copper brads instead of dew drops and some of my inks are different but other than that I kept the rest I hated to change a thing it's just my favorite card! I love watercolouring these flowers they always seem to turn out so beautifully no matter what colours you use:) Some of the flowers and leaves are glued onto the original image for some added dimension.
Have a wonderful day!

Spring Fling Hello

Another challenge on SCS today. They are having a challenge "blitz" this week from the "Dirty Girl's" - the awesome designers on SCS. Everyday they have several challenges to chose from or to combine on a card - its been lots of fun so far. Anyways, this card was for the watercolour challenge from Christine. I didn't have a lot of time today so I chose this stamp because it is so quick and easy to colour in. Thanks for looking!
Beth
Paper: spring fling dp, watercolour, white embossed, sage shadow and certainly celery CS
inks: sage, celery, moss
Accessories: celery ribbon, brads, ticket corner punch, mini scallop scissors

TLC178

We were suppose to combine a few things for this challenge on SCS - a sketch, two colours and a technique. I was able to do two of the three. The colours used were bravo burgundy and creamy caramel (I also used very vanilla). The layout is from the sketch we were to use, but I wasn't able to do the technique because I didn't have any re-inkers. So, this is what I made - I have to say putting this one together was a hard one for me I played around with it for quite sometime trying to get it to look right, still not sure ;)

FS76 - Featured Stamper Challenge

This was my first featured stamper challenge - you are to case a card today from Susan's gallery and I chose the card at the top of this post. I changed the stamps and used Penny Black's Crossing Bridges stamp and the sentiment I used was from SU Friendship Blooms. I kept the colours pretty much the same and used the same embossing folder.
There is a link to Susan's blog on the side bar.
Enjoy the glorious sunshine today!

I used old olive, pumpkin pie, basic black, watercolour paper and bali breeze dp.The inks are pumpkin pie, old olive, rose red and tempting turquoise.

Embrace Life with some *bling*...

Good morning! I love Saturday mornings when we don't have to go rushing off somewhere - sip your coffee and relax ahhh!!
Well, I have finally used cameo coral on a card. I mixed it with regal rose (a very pink card!) The cameo base is stamped with the linen background, then I watercoloured the flowers, with cameo, regal, pretty in pink and a little so saffron - I love this bloom from the Embrace Life set. I stamped three flowers onto vellum to put in behind the watercoloured flowers for some added layers and softness :) For a little bling I added rhinestone centres ;)
Enjoy your day!

Using up some more DP!!!

My friend Debbie :) told me to get cracking and use up my DP so Deb I'm starting with these two everyday cards ;) Not very fancy cards but fast and easy - nice to have on hand to send a little note in. I used porcelain prints which will likely retire with the next catty as it uses blue bayou, wildwasabi & river rock all outgoing in colours. I used certainly celery for the base because with this sheet of dp I thought is was a closer match than wasabi and I think the rest is pretty straight forward :)

Good morning! TGIF!
Well, this is my first limited supply challenge at SCS. We were to use some kind of a folded card and limit the supplies used(hard to do...) Anyways, this is the card I came up with. It uses certainly celery for the base and then poreclain prints dp on the front panels. Fun & Fast notes flower stamp and sentiment. The gate fold tutorial is on SCS under resources.

Ocean Sailing Adventure

I made this for the CT0708 dirty dozen fan club theme (STAYcation) on SCS today. I will be sending it off to my neice who will soon be leaving for a sailing adventure on a tall ship for several months! Isn't that cool! What a lucky girl, they sail to many different locations around the world, she is going to have the time of her life!
The card uses blue bayou, river rock, not quite navy and very vanilla CS. I stamped the Winds of Grace images in stazon timber brown ink and then coloured them in with a blender pen and inks. I used not quite navy pastel with a cotton ball to create the sky then I stippled everything with chocolate chip before adhering. The sentiment is from the warm words set and the double stitched ribbon is river rock.
Have a nice evening!

WT175 - Cinnamon Seaside

Good morning - the sun is shining and the birds are chirping once again. Happy day!
It was such a beautiful morning that when I saw the Ways to Use it Challenge at SCS I immediately knew I wanted to use this seaside stamp! Sure glad I did I love how it turned out :) We were to use something from our spice cupboards. I chose cinnamon. I did a watercolour wash on the background with river rock, bashful blue and so saffron then stamped the image in stazon timber brown ink. I added more colour with a blender pen with the same colours mentioned and close to cocoa. I used a glue pen in the sandy grassy areas and sprinkled on some cinnamon then tapped off the excess - sure smells wonderful! The base of the card is so saffron and I stamped the linen bg on it. For embellishment I used 2 edge anchors (ctmh), off white hemp, some beads and a shell! The sentiment is from ctmh.
Sure hope the sun is shining on you today ;)

Just one more...

I know I posted the same image this morning but I had stamped two panels (just in case I made a big mess of one!) and I didn't want to waste it :) I did change things up with a new layout,a different sentiment(ctmh),embellishments and some new colours - bashful blue, so saffron and very vanilla CS. The inks are bashful blue, so saffron, and certainly celery on the flowers and I stamped the en francais background with river rock. The edges are sponged with so saffron and I used a stipple brush with some chocolate chip ink on the sentiment and flowers to soften the vanilla more.

Warm Autumn colours...

It was so chilly here today I was wearing a sweater around the house :(
I made this card using warm Autumn colours in keeping with the chill in the air today :) Here's hoping the sun will shine tomorrow and warm things up!
I used chocolate chip, more mustard, very vanilla and rust CS. I embossed the mustard piece with the swiss dots folder using the C-bug and with river rock ink stamped the background of the flower with the en francais background stamp (one of my favorites!) I coloured in the flower with really rust and the leaves with old olive. The copper embellishments are from We R Memory Keepers. There is also a piece of chocolate chip ribbon at the bottom with some paper from Scenic Route.
Have a nice evening all!

TLC 177 - SCS Technique Challenge - Got Grid?

Well, it was a rainy day here so I had some time to stamp ;)
I decided to try the technique challenge on SCS today. I have a scor-pal and truthfully haven't been using it as often as I should and it was wonderful for this challenge. These colours are very bold and not my usual style so I consider this one a double challenge :)
I used taken with teal, wild wasabi, basic black and whisper white. The stamp set is a level one hostess set A little bit of Happiness.

Mini Album for a friend...

Good morning :) Its raining here today so maybe I'll be able to get a few things done in the stamp room today ;)
I made this mini album for my friend Lori. Several weeks ago we took our daughters to the Banff and Canmore area on a "girl's weekend". So, I decided to put this album together with a few pictures we took and mail it to her. We also paid a visit to the Calgary Zoo which was a lot of fun and we had loads of pictures from there as well.
I used the instructions for the Father's Day mini album in "Stampin Success" to create the basic album for this project. I changed a few things including the colours, stamp set and embellishments.
So, hopefully Lori you don't decide to check out my blog before this arrives in the mail :)
Have a great day!

Touch of Nature - Wonderful!

What a beautiful Saturday it is here - sunny and not as windy as the last 2 days have been. We went to the Farmer's Market this morning and I bought a beautiful bouquet of sunflowers. They are such a striking flower definitely one of my favorites. I'll try to get a good photo to post later.
Anyways, onto this card. I got the inspiration for this and the colour combo idea from a card on the SCS gallery by justbehappy. I changed the stamp set and also the layout and came up with this. The card uses basic black, river rock, rose red and very vanilla. The stamps I used were, Touch of Nature, Warm Words, and linen background.
Enjoy your day ;)

Get well soon...

I didn't have a get well card in my stash so I chose this sentiment out of the Sincere Salutations set to use on this card. I know I have posted several cards with the Fresh Cuts set but it is new to me and I really like it ;) I'll try to move on to another set for my next post :-)
The base of the card is so saffron and I used the linen background stamp on it. The image is also stamped in so saffron on whisper white and matted in basic black. I stamped the flowers, cut them out, put a brad in the centre of each and adhered with a dimensional. A very quick and easy card to make!
Bye for now.
Beth

Set sail...

Set sail with The Winds of Grace stamp set! This one's going out to our nephew who enjoys sailing. I also used this stamp for my husband's Father's Day card in June, and I will be sending out a card using this set to one of our neice's as she is set to go on a big sailing adventure on a tall ship for several months! Very excited for her :)
On this card I used close to cocoa for the base and layered it with a DP from berry bliss. The blue ink and CS is brocade. And that's a pewter jumbo brad with a length of ribbon through it. I also inked up the edges on this one with close to cocoa and the sentiment is from Lots of Thoughts a SAB set.
Enjoy your day ;)

beautiful blooms in Canmore...

These beautiful half barrels were lining the Main Street in Canmore along with hanging baskets. It looked just stunning. I really liked the colours and choice of flowers. I usually take pictures of containers and keep them in a gardening journal so that in the Spring I can pull it out and use it to figure out what I'm going to plant that year.
Enjoy the sunshine :)
