a boy's birthday card...

Hi there! I made this birthday card to coordinate with the gift I wrapped using scrapbooking paper. I took one of the star stickers that came with the paper, backed it with cardstock then added the large brad in the centre before adhering it to the card. I thought the paper was perfect without adding anything else except a little chocolate chip ribbon for dimension.

Pocket card...

I made this cute pocket card with a friend today and used all her supplies to create it! I admit I haven't been stamping lately - I have been doing a lot of sewing/quilting instead, so it was fun to finally make a card again today.

Cheers,

Springtime Thank You...

I must be dreaming of Spring! I know, it's still a long way off, lots of winter left yet... :(

I stamped with Season of Friendship and Teeny Tiny Wishes on this card with a colour combo of creamy caramel, old olive, rose red, chocolate chip and whisper white. I used the second generation stamping technique for the leaves and flowers.

The wavy border punched paper is from retired Fall Flowers designer paper.
Have a great day!

Did someone say "Rabbit"?

We back onto a park and there are always huge Jack Rabbits running through our backyard. I always have to laugh when our Yorkie runs over to the window barking like crazy anytime someone says "Rabbit"!

I laugh mostly because the rabbits are at least twice as big as she is and when she has occasionally escaped the backyard and chases after one she has NO chance of catching it - they are so fast!

This picture is her looking out the window after someone said "Rabbit"!

If I ever get close enough to one of these big Jack Rabbits before it takes off I will try to snap a photo for you to see :)

Let it snow...

I used last weeks SCS sketch for this card, I've just changed the rectangle to a circle for the main image. I used a small piece of retired Fall Flowers designer Paper, whisper white cs which I ran through the big shot with a snowflake embossing folder and soft sky card stock as the base. The snowmen are from the stamp set More the Merrier.

Inspiration Challenge...

Wow, it has certainly been a very long time since I participated in one of the challenges over at SCS! It felt good to be stamping again, with Christmas and a nasty cold over with I am now hoping to have a little more time to stamp :) I used this as inspiration for the card above.
I combined the stamp set Asian Artistry with Thoroughly Modern DP. The image was stamped onto watercolour paper with timber brown stazon and coloured with in colour markers and a blender pen. I added two fancy photo clips to the sentiment and popped the image up on dimensionals. For the inside, I stamped the small dragonfly from the set onto whisper white cs, added another strip of dp and adhered it.
Hope you are enjoying your Saturday and thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
Stamps: asian artistry
Inks & Markers: in colours
Paper: thoroughly modern, bermuda bay, soft suede, watercolour, whisper white
Accessories: bigshot and dies, brads and photo anchors, blender pen, in colour markers, dimensionals

Happy New Year!

(picture from Canadian Wildlife Calendar 2008)
Well, it is New Year's Eve already! This year seemed to fly by and I can't believe we are welcoming a new year and a new decade at midnight tonight! I wish everyone a happy and healthy 2010! It is a chilly New Year's Eve here - last time I checked it was -25 celcius (about -20 Farenheit) ...brrrrr!!! With this latest cold snap, I have made sure to fill up the birdfeeders so the birds that stay here over the winter can get some extra energy from suet and sunflower seeds!
We are staying home tonight because I am sick :( and we are trying to stay warm on this chilly night beside the fire and are at the moment watching the Canada vs. USA World Junior Hockey game.

I had hoped to get back into my stamping room right after Christmas but unfortunately I have been sick with a nasty cold that doesn't seem to want to leave just yet :( I am hoping tomorrow I will feel better and have some energy to make a card to share!

I am very excited to start using my new camera as well :) - the Canon Rebel TSI - a Christmas gift from my fantastic family! It was a total surprise and I am so happy with it!

Take care,

Two Looks...

Good morning! It is a frosty morning here and we had more snow overnight. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Today I have two cards to show you - both use Thoroughly Modern designer papers and have the same layout. Only thing is, I've changed the tree image and sentiment on each one. The top card used the tree from Season of Joy and the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes.
Here I've used Lovely as a Tree and a sentiment from To You and Yours. Sometimes I want a sentiment on the front of my card but have to search for one small enough to fit the spot I want to adhere it to. I like to have a variety of the same sentiments for this reason.
Well, I hope you like these two looks using the same basic card layout! Enjoy your day!

Supplies:
Stamps: season of joy, teeny tiny wishes, lovely as a tree, to you and yours
Inks & Markers: bermuda bay, soft suede
Paper: thoroughly modren, soft suede, whisper white, bermuda bay
Accessories: in colour ribbon, circle punches, modern label punch, word window punch

Holiday gift card holder...

Back again today with another gift card holder - same dimensions as the one in the previous post :) I've had a few requests for these and needed some for myself as well, so I made several this week. They fit into a standard envelope so they work well for mailing a little holiday cheer!

For this card, I used real red card stock with the designer paper from the Merry Moments package. The stamp on the front is from the Christmas Punch Hostess set.
Have a wonderful day!
